Module and Training Concept Validation Meeting

Module and Training Concept Validation Meeting

To meet the needs of teachers, coaches, schools and clubs facing the cultural challenges of integrating and welcoming a great number of people, the project aims to develop innovative, evidence-based intercultural pedagogy in physical education and coaching.

The Meeting in Trikala, Greece was hosted by the University of Thessaly and took place from the 28th until the 29th of March 2019. In total, 12 representatives from 8 partner institutions took part in the meeting to evaluate and work on the modules and study units. The modules aim to equip teachers and coaches with fundamental intercultural skills such as self-reflection and cultural awareness, while proposing innovative approaches that can be integrated into sport sessions.

At the next meeting in Munich in June 2019 the study units will be tested and all partners enrolled will continue to develop the teacher training concept. Experts from Cologne, Vienna, Rome and Greece will work closely together with the NGO-Partners as their comprehensive practical long-term experience is of special value in this matter.

From 23rd to 25th of September 2019 the Training of Trainers Implementation Meeting will take place in Vienna. Selected physical education teachers, trainers and coaches will be familiarized with the EDU:PACT objectives and trained in providing intercultural learning activities in existing PE and coaching programmes. This meeting will be followed by the ENSE Forum from 26th to 27th of September, where EDU:PACT will be presented to a broad community.
